FAQ's

How do I arrange a demo?

Please get in contact with our customer service team via our live chat, who will put you in contact with one of our product specialists to arrange your demo at a time and location most convenient to you.

What level of magnification should I get?

The level of magnification you choose depends on your clinical needs. Typically if you need to see the full face on a day to day basis, we would recommend our lower magnifications such as the 2.5x and the 2.8x. For procedures where a full arch and soft tissues need to be visible, we recommend the 3.5x. We pioneered the full arch field of view at 5x, and 7.5x allows canine to canine field of view; the highest magnification tends to be for high level precision and single tooth dentistry. Our groundbreaking field of view even at high magnifications means that you can use your loupes all day.

What is the difference between loupes and Refractives?

Both our loupes and Refractives provide market-leading optics for precise and excellent dentistry. Whilst our loupes encourage a neutral back posture, Refractives take this one step further and ensure the ultimate ergonomic position.

Can I use loupes if I have an optical prescription?

Yes, we can either add your prescription to your loupes or you can wear them with your contact lenses in as normal.

How much do BD loupes weigh?

Our loupes are designed to be ultra light-weight for maximum comfort. The 7.5x weigh 81.7g, the 5x weigh 75g, the 3.5x weigh 62g, the 2.8x weigh 26g and the 2.5x weigh 21.5g.

Are they compatible with Ignis?

Yes, our loupes and Refractives were designed to be used with the Ignis headlight.

What does field of view mean?

The term field of view tells you the area you can see through your loupes or Refractives. You can normally see a lower span at higher magnifications and vice versa.

Do you offer student discount?

Yes we do! We offer a discount of £150 on 2.5x and 2.8x loupes. Book a demo to find out more!

Can I return my loupes?

How long until I get my order?

Shipping Costs
We offer free UK shipping on all orders over £50.
For all other international deliveries, shipping is free over £100.

Delivery Times
If your order contains bespoke loupes / Refractives, they will typically ship 6-8 weeks after we have received all your details and we have an authorised mandate, deposit or payment in place.

If your loupes / Refractives are more complex in design due to individual variation in measurements, it can take longer. We are unable to speed up this process without compromising the result due to the high levels of engineering that go into each order. We thank you for your patience in advance.

For non-bespoke items, we aim to dispatch your order within 48 hours after payment authorisation; however if for whatever reason we are not able to fulfill your order within this time frame we will inform you of estimated delivery.
